DIY Lampshade Makeover

I am still working on decorating and setting up my office in my new home.  It’s been a slow process because there are other rooms and projects that have higher priority (like my closet and my kitchen!)  I have purchased some fun pieces like a white and gold desk, a pale pink mid-century modern chair, a HUGE full length mirror, some girl curtains, and a chandelier (that the hubs has yet to install…)  It is coming together, but slowly.  A few weeks ago, I shared a post featuring a DIY bookcase I made using a Target bookcase, marble contact paper, and some gold spray paint.  I’ve purchased some cute pieces to display on it, including this super cool mid-century modern clock from World Market.

I had been on the lookout for a floor lamp, but I already had one that was cool looking, with a sort of wavy gold post, but I wasn’t thrilled with the boring lampshade and couldn’t find one that was quite right.  So I hit up the local craft stores, plugged in my hot glue gun, and went to town.  I used some fringe, a blingy button, and some paper flowers  minimal items, but with a cute end result.

I can’t wait to finish up this room so I can share pictures of the finished space with you!
